Following the recent ‘Topping Out’ ceremony of our nearly complete redevelopment project (led by Brian Blessed no less!), we’re inviting a few lucky residents on an exclusive tour of our exciting works-in-progress.

Be among the first to lay eyes on the gorgeous exposed walls of our 252-year-old Theatre as we take you around our brand new Front of House spaces, multi-function events suite and state-of-the-art Studio Theatre.

Guided by our expert General Manager, this unique experience is your chance to find out all about the changes to come ahead of our King Street entrance’s grand re-opening this Autumn.

Please note: This tour will last approximately 40 minutes and is suitable for aged 16+

A hardhat, high-vis jacket and steel toe-capped shoes will be required to participate in the site visit. We will be in contact for your shoe size ahead of the event.

Please also be aware that you will be touring a working building site and will be required to negotiate stairs and/or climb ladders. There are currently no completed facilities on-site for those with access needs. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

YEAR OF CHANGE TALK
Backstage Bar
5.20pm

With completion of our redevelopment works set for autumn, 2018 marks a huge change for the fabric of our building, our mission for the future and the role we play within the city we represent.

Ahead of our 7.30pm performance of The Cherry Orchard, we invite you to join us for a pre-show talk exploring the power of change, the season we’ve curated based on this theme, the creative teams and community partners we will be working with and our ambition for the years ahead.

Led by Chloe Elwood, Executive Producer, and Zoe Crick-Tucker, Development Director, this exclusive pre-show talk will dissect our revolutionary new season and tackle head-on all the exciting changes to come.

INTERVAL
6pm-7.30pm

Following our Year of Change pre-show talk and ahead of The Cherry Orchard evening performance, we invite you to refuel in our Backstage Bar with 10% off our selection of local beverages and a tasty cheese or charcuterie board.

Offer valid to all residents on presentation of a Resident’s Weekend sticker.

THE CHERRY ORCHARD EVENING PERFORMANCE
Theatre
7.30pm

Officially commencing our radical Year of Change, join us for our dazzling new production of The Cherry Orchard.

Directed by Sir Michael Boyd (former Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company) and featuring a unique in-the-round design by Tom Piper (Designer of the poppy installation at the Tower of London in 2014), this fresh, funny and honest new translation of Chekhov’s final masterpiece maps the bittersweet tensions between the desperate longing to hold onto what is familiar and the restless lure of the new.

Kirsty Bushell (King Lear, Chichester Festival Theatre) and Jude Owusu (Julius Caesar, RSC) lead the ensemble.

Residents’ Weekend offer: £10 tickets for all residents
Maximum of two tickets per resident. Limited availability.
